WITH A SKIPPER
An iconic feature of Cap Ferret, the “pinasse” embodies the lifestyle of the Bay of Arcachon. By request, Villa Colette organizes boat rides with skippers for its guests, on board a traditional flat-bottomed “pinasse” or a more contemporary boat. The tide permitting, boarding takes place just in front of the hotel. The excursion takes you on a discovery of the Île aux Oiseaux with its houses on stilts, or as far as the dune of Le Pilat, all along Le Banc d’Arguin. You can drop anchor to enjoy a swim, drift along gently on the sea, or prolong your excursion until the sun goes down. As a couple or with friends, these moments on the bay, suspended in time, are among the most memorable experiences on Cap Ferret.

THE EBB AND FLOW OF THE TIDES
On the Bay of Arcachon, navigation depends on the tides. Each excursion is planned on a tailormade basis, taking the day’s weather conditions and your wishes into account. GRAND TOUR OF THE BAYFULL DAY EXURSION
From the beach facing Villa Colette or the Bélisaire jetty, the boat sets course for Le Banc d’Arguin and the majestic dune of Le Pilat. If you wish, you can disembark to climb the sand dune and admire the unique panoramic view between ocean and bay. Your excursion then resumes along the coast of Le Pyla, Le Moulleau and Arcachon, before joining the Île aux Oiseaux with its famous houses on stilts. The return trip proceeds gently, circling the island and facing the villages on Cap Ferret, with views of pinewoods, oyster shacks and changing scenery. A spectacular, all-round discovery of the Bay of Arcachon.
SECRET SANDBANKSAFTERNOON EXCURSION
Depending on the tides, this excursion can begin by visiting ephemeral sand banks which appear when the water recedes. Almost unreal, these changing landscapes allow for pauses for bathing or stolen moments in the midst of the bay. The excursion then proceeds depending on conditions and your wishes: either towards the Île aux Oiseaux with its houses on stilts, or to Le Banc d’Arguin and the dune of Le Pilat. The return trip follows the coastline, and the light around the bay gently accompanies your arrival.
GOURMET ESCAPADE ON CAP FERRETHALF-DAY EXCURSION
From the beach facing the hotel or the Bélisaire jetty, a 3-minute walk away, head for the oyster villages on Cap Ferret. A stopover can be organised in one of the shacks, to enjoy the cape’s unmissable flat oysters. The trip then continues towards the Île aux Oiseaux with its houses on stilts, or Le Banc d’Arguin opposite the dune of Le Pilat, depending on the tides and length of your trip.
